ROV SURVEY

Client: Oil and Gas Industry / Offshore service provider

Role: Project Manager

Date: 2021

Location: Asia Pacific (Various countries)

Scope: Managing ROV surveys for subsea installations and maintenance projects

Key Activities:

  • Mobilisation of equipment

  • Crewing (crew changes, travel, visas)

  • Ensuring the client specs are met

  • Client point of contact

  • Commercial responsibility for the project (inc variations, and invoicing)

Site Visit Reports (Remote)

Client: Telecom company

Role: Project Manager and Report Writer

Date: 2020

Location: East Africa (6 countries)

Scope: Produce remote site visit reports for the cable landing sites. This was done ‘remotely’ due to the COVID travel restrictions. Information was gathered from many sources, including; databases, past project experience and knowledge, as well as local stakeholders

Key Activities:

  • Identify; physical obstacles for the landing site, existing cables and subsea infrastructure, and any other challenges when ‘landing’ the cable

  • Evaluate marine traffic in the area, and identify environmental protected areas

  • Incorporate maps and charts for the report

  • Write and compile the report

Asia Pacific Survey with Dry Docking

Client: Blue-chip company

Role: Project Manager

Date: 2019

Location: Asia Pacific (2 countries)

Scope: 5,500km survey route, for a reconnaissance survey for a subsea fibre-optic cable feasibility investigation

Key Activities:

  • Dry docking a third-party vessel and installing a hull mounted multibeam echosounder and converting into a survey vessel

  • Engaging; naval architect, dry dock, vessel owner, and ensuring class approval

  • Vessel Operations

  • Chartering vessel from third party

  • Handing back vessel

  • Ensuring the client specs are met

  • Contract negotiating with client

  • Client point of contact

  • Commercial responsibility for the project (inc variations, and invoicing)

Trans-Pacific Survey

Client: Telecom company

Role: Project Manager

Date: 2018-2019

Location: Trans-Pacific (5 countries)

Scope: 13,000km survey route, for a pre-lay survey for a fibre-optic cable

Key Activities:

  • Mobilisation of vessel

  • Arranging the vessel operations for 5 countries (inc provisions and fuel)

  • Permitting

  • Crewing (crew changes, travel, visas)

  • Ensuring the client specs are met

  • Client point of contact

  • Commercial responsibility for the project (inc variations, and invoicing)

  • Engaging local subcontractors for the nearshore surveys

North Sea Hydrographic Survey

Client: Energy Company

Role: Project Manager and Bid Manager

Scope: Hydrographic survey in the North Sea for a windfarm site
